Q. What type of hair extensions do you offer?
A. We offer all types of strand by strand hair extensions.
1. Pre glued extensions, come from the manufacturer with a glue tip in place, it is heated by your stylist and bonded with your hair. After 3 to 6 months it is gently removed with a special solution, and the hair is discarded. New hair is used each time. The amount of time hair is worn varies with how fast your hair grows.
2. Keratin bond extensions are pre determined in size, they are small petite pieces of hair, and the bonding agent is protein based. The hair can be reused with this method.
3. Stick hair, also known as beaded extensions, are pre determined size extension, it is applied to your hair with a small copper or aluminum bead, and the hair is held in place by crimping the bead on to your hair. This method does not require heat or glue to stay attached to your hair. The hair can be reused.
4. Glue bond extensions are cut from the weft of hair, and the stylist determines the size of the extension that will best suit your hair texture and type. An acetone based solution is used to gently dissolve the glue when removing the extensions, the old glue is removed from the hair. The hair can be re-used.
Q. Do I color my hair to match the extensions?
A. No. The hair extensions are matched to your hair, as they come in many colors, it is easy to match your hair color.
Q. Can I color my hair when I wear hair extensions?
A. YES! The bonds will hold up great even when using color around them, it is not a good idea to color the hair extensions however, they have a closed cuticle, and to add ammonia or peroxide to the extension hair may make the hair rough and dry.
Q. How long will my hair extensions last?
A. With proper care and regular maintenance your hair extensions can last 12 – 24 months before they need to be replaced with new hair.
Q .How often do I need to maintain my hair extensions?
A. Depending on how fast your hair grows, it will need to be maintained every 4 to 6 weeks. This doesn’t mean you need to re-do all of your extensions this often, it means you re-do a section of them, and the next month you do a different section, and so on. It is approximately 20 to 25 extensions each maintenance. This is the best care for your hair and budget!
Q. Which extensions are best for me?
A. We base this answer on a few simple factors: What is your hair length to begin with? What length do you want to make your hair?, Is your hair thick or fine?, What is your head size?, What is your hair texture, straight, wavy, curly? Is your hair fragile or strong? Do you want just a few highlights or fantasy colors? All of these questions help us to make an educated recommendation to you about the best hair for you. We ask that you come in to the salon and get a complimentary consultation and individual price quote based on your needs.
Q. How long can I wear the extensions?
A. When you maintain your extensions, they can be worn continuously, there is no need to remove all of the extensions at once and put in new hair. We promote a monthly maintenance program that keeps your hair extensions in great condition, keeps your own hair safe from breakage, and makes wearing extensions affordable.
Q. Will hair extensions damage my hair?
A. When applied properly by a trained hair extension specialist, and instructions are followed by you, your hair will not be damaged. They must be brushed daily, shampooed and conditioned with recommended products, pull them up at night or put them in a loose braid, and monthly maintenance are the main criteria for keeping your hair in optimal condition.
Q. Do I need to use special products on my hair extensions?
A. Yes, it is highly recommended to use products that your stylist knows are safe for your hair extensions. Your hair extensions are an investment, you need to invest in quality hair care products.
Q. Can I style my hair with irons, dryers etc?
A. Yes, you may style your hair with blow dryers, flat iron, curling iron, taking care not to make direct contact with the seal.
Q. Can I pull my hair up?
A. Yes, your hair extensions will be hidden between your own hair, and thus be very natural looking when your hair is pulled up.
Q. How often can I wash my hair?
A. You can wash daily. We recommend no more than 2 days in between shampoos. The hair extensions are not connected to the follicle (the hairs source of nutrition) thus they need to be cleaned and conditioned to nourish the hair and keep it soft. We recommend a leave in conditioner in addition to your rinse out conditioner.

Q. Do I need a consultation before making an appointment for hair extensions?
A. Yes. We need to see your hair to accurately match color, texture and style, as well as answer any questions you may have about hair extensions, the cost, and the type of extensions that are best for you.
Q. What is the cost of hair extensions?
A. The cost is $4.00 per strand for labor, plus the cost of the extension hair. The average cost of the hair is $2.00 per strand making a total cost of $6.00 per strand. The amount of strands needed will vary from head to head depending on the individuals head size, the thickness of hair, the length of the hair to begin with , and the desired length of the extensions.
On the average, 100 strands are needed to make the hair look most natural. Some will require more, some will need less.
(Example) 100 strands x $6.00 = $600.00 for extensions.
(Example) 150 strands x $6.00 = $900.00 for extensions.
Maintenance for your extensions based on a monthly schedule will cost you $100.00 - $150.00.
