I am Mindi, creator, owner, and hair artist at Element Salon. I have been a professional cosmetologist in this industry since 1983, but I actually started practicing hair cutting and make-up on my friends when I was in the 8th grade. I LOVE THIS INDUSTRY!!! And I LOVE MY JOB.
I have always had an enthusiasm for beauty and happiness. Meeting new people as well as enjoying loyal clients of many years is a very important part of my life. This is the reason I am motivated with desire and ambition to create a salon where clients, as well as other “artists” in this industry receive positive energy and a sense of well being.
Using each other’s ideas and my expertise, I will create a look that is individual and unique for you. My methods of Custom Cutting, Schwartzkopf Coloring, Strand by Strand Hair Extensions, Yuko Hair Straightening, Perming, Good Medicine Skin Care and Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, is sure to enhance your image.
I have always known that beauty comes from within. It is my goal when working and creating on any individual, to always bring out your inner most beauty. Not to mention creating a beautiful outward appearance as well. Combining the two will create a most attractive you.
I grew up having a mom that was a very successful salon owner/stylist.
With help from my mom, when I was 14, I started cutting hair on my friends from school, it was instant love for me….
At 16, I started an apprenticeship under the supervision of my mom and was a licensed cosmetologist , 6 months before I graduated from high school.
My mom was the key hair stylist for all of the celebrity guest stars on the Donny and Marie show, many movies and commercials, as well as The Childrens Miracle Network Telethon, I was introduced to this aspect of the business at 19. I have acquired make up skills from the best teachers with in the film industry. I offer make up services, to my clients, for special occasions or I teach clients new ways of doing their make up as well.
At 23, I purchased my first salon , I have owned and operated 5 different salons since that time. Each salon has been uniquely different from the one before, I guess I would say it is the way I keep re-inventing myself in this awesome industry.
I am a licensed instructor, and usually have an apprentice. I teach licensed stylist how to do hair extensions. The teaching part of my life is very rewarding, I enjoy watching students learn and grow and gain the confidence to succeed.
I now, have a daughter in this profession as well.
